The tiny village of Nellim  is located north of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, just 8kms from the Russian border. Its remote location, overlooking beautiful Lake Inari, is the perfect spot to view the ethereal Northern Lights. There is also a wide variety of outdoor activities which are certain to keep even the most active families occupied.

Nellim Wilderness Hotel offers a good variety of different styles of rooms and apartments, perfect for most family groupings. It’s ‘Christmas card’ appearance and the availability of a good selection of optional outdoor adventures make it a popular choice. Families will love the opportunity to spend fun time together with plenty of time for the perfect balance of activity and relaxation.

Nellim is one of the oldest inhabited areas in the Inari region, with signs of habitation dating back 8000 years! The Sámi people, the indigenous people of Lapland, have herded their reindeer here for thousands of years and today reindeer husbandry is still a primary occupation.

Nellim’s pristine nature of remote arctic fells, fjords and lakes has changed little for centuries. Today’s visitors will find a magical, winter wonderland with modern day comfort and quality but still full of historical authenticity.
